Drug Dogs

The primary duty of a Watchdog Detection team is that of location. The handler and K-9 are to be considered one unit with the primary task of locating narcotics and the contraband that is associated with narcotic use.Watchdog Narcotic Detection teams are trained and maintained to the same level as Police Service Detection Canines. They are held to the same certification standards as Law Enforcement Canine teams and are maintained to the same training standards. They are trained to detect (sniffout) illicit narcotics and indicate the location of narcotics to the handler.
